Work backward from the requested arrival date using the confirmed transport route and calendars. Identify the latest dispatch and release dates, then calculate the latest production start from the agreed process duration. On each material branch, subtract its procurement and review time to identify the required specification/artwork freeze. Parallel work and buffers must be explicit; do not simply add every duration when stages overlap.
A deposit or tentative capacity discussion only creates the reservation rights stated in the specific agreement. Confirm the slot, validity, prerequisites, payment trigger, rescheduling/cancellation terms and what happens if approvals or components are late. Do not assume payment alone reserves a tank or filling line.
Request a dated milestone or Gantt plan with owners, dependencies, assumptions and change history. If the customer delays formula, artwork, packaging or sample approval, have the planner reassess the affected critical path and reconfirm capacity.
