LAYERED DIELINE SCHEMATIC — EDUCATIONAL EXAMPLE ONLY
Version: 2026-10-11

FICTIONAL / NOT PRODUCTION-APPROVED
This original illustration explains layer separation. It is not a factory drawing, a validated carton construction, a print-ready separation set or a LAEYO production specification. No customer project, actual dimensions or test results are represented. Closure, glue, fit and safe-area details are intentionally incomplete or absent. Do not manufacture from it.

CONTENTS
- p166-layered-dieline-schematic.svg: editable diagram with independently named SVG layer groups
- README.txt: this explanation

OPENING THE FILE
Use a trusted SVG-capable vector editor. The file is self-contained: no scripts, fonts to download, raster images, external references, hyperlinks or embedded executable content. The named layer groups are recognized as layers in Inkscape; other editors may show them as ordinary groups. The diagram uses the standard system font DejaVu Sans, falling back to sans-serif. Font substitution can change label layout.

GROUPS
00 / INSTRUCTIONS_NOT_PRODUCTION — title and background
01 / PREVIEW_SUBSTRATE_CONTEXT — pale-grey orientation shape, not a print plate
02 / BLEED_GUIDE — pink illustrative band beyond the cut contour
03 / WHITE_INK_MASK — white areas, with purple preview outlines
04 / FOIL_MASK — gold illustrative artwork
05 / FOLD_GUIDE — dashed blue fold guides
06 / CUT_GUIDE — continuous red cut contour
07 / LEGEND_NOT_PRODUCTION — explanation and warnings

The internal outside-cut mask only limits the displayed bleed band; it is not a production trapping, overprint or bleed setting. Purple white-ink outlines, gold preview color, pink band styling and technical guide colors are display aids. They do not establish ink recipes or plate settings. SVG group names do not create production spot plates or mark a layer as non-printing in another application.

NO ENGINEERING VALUES
The SVG viewBox and shape coordinates describe screen geometry only. They are not millimetres, product sizes, tolerances, line-width limits, registration allowances, bleed values, tooling instructions or output scale. Width and height describe the preview canvas. The arrangement is intentionally incomplete and should not be used as a cutting template.

BEFORE REAL PRODUCTION
Obtain the supplier-issued and approved dieline for the actual structure and revision. Have the printer define scale, substrate, cut/crease/fold conventions, approved bleed, safe areas, spot/finishing separations, white-ink use, knockouts/overprint and technical-guide exclusion. Confirm the accepted export format and preflight/proof requirements. Use the approved production output, not this educational SVG.
